To help facilitate contactless, safe and efficient afternoon pickups at schools, in 2014 a Sydney teacher and mum designed a CarID system. A CarID is a plastic unit that opens down from the passenger visor making family names visible 30m from a school collection point.
Staff can have children assembled in pick-up order, ready to board and continue out of the area. This uniform display has proven to cut carline waiting times in half and noticeably reduce traffic congestion around schools.
Using a CarID system helps ensure a contactless school pick up to benefit staff and parent safety, time and duty of care. Made to last from Kindy to Year 6 they are a one-off school investment for each family.
The Scots College, Bellevue Hill, NSW:
We introduced Sign Safe Visors to our school community 2 years ago to reduce congestion around the Prep school. The results have been outstanding, we are now able to clear our carline in half the time. Lizzy and her team are extremely efficient, professional and courteous. It's a pleasure dealing with Sign Safe Kids.
Sacred Heart Primary School, NSW:
Car-IDs enable the smooth and safe running of car-line in the afternoons as they are clear and easy for teachers to read. They eliminate the difficulty and distraction of no sign or just holding one up briefly. As a teacher, I would love to see Car-IDs made compulsory at all car-line schools.
